There
are multiple quotes in this week’s section that are unnecessary because they
could easily be paraphrased. One quote from Doc Holliday goes with what the
headline title is and that is the only one that seems acceptable in that story.
Another quote “I don’t think we’re going to have to convince our kids that these
guys can play,” does not tell the reader much and will not make sense to the
reader. Overall this section is laid out well as far as newsworthiness goes.
There are big news stories on the front page and stories about high school
sports on the inside. However, the big headline story does not have a big
enough headline. It is hard to tell what the big story is here. The pictures
have great quality and really tell a different side or a more visual side to
the stories that the writers are telling.
