The layout for the front page of
this weeks’ section is simple and the headlines are spaced out to fit the page
with not a lot of space left over. The GW coach story brings out a lot of
emotions for a sports page, which takes a different turn than what most sports
readers are used to, in a good way. Putting a prep soccer story on the front page
of the sports section is a risky move because a lot of readers do not know much
about soccer, especially prep soccer. The picture, however, really draws the
reader in because it is so clear. It is shocking that a WVU story is sitting on
the bottom of the page but it fits there and the picture fits the story almost
perfectly as well. I noticed this is another week that Marshall has taken its
spot on the second page but this week it works because they had a break in the
schedule.
